Embedded in the white winter dress, Altenmarkt – Zauchensee shows its most beautiful side in the winter months. Deep snow-covered forests, a special atmosphere and, not to forget, unforgettable moments await you during your skiing vacation. Altenmarkt is located in the heart of the Ski amadé. With 270 ski lifts and cable cars it is one of the largest winter sports areas in Europe.
Directly in front of our house you will find the ski bus stop. Two stops later, that’s about 900 meters, you’ll find yourself at the Radstadt-Altenmarkt ski area. The new facility is also a paradise for children and to learn skiing. Especially the perfectly groomed slopes are praised in this area. After apres ski, which you will find just there, you are also guaranteed to make the 900 meters back to the aparthotel on foot.
The same bus, which is free of charge in winter with your ski pass, takes you to the ski paradise of Zauchensee in about ten minutes. Due to its location, Zauchensee is one of the most snow-secure ski areas in Austria. Here you will find winter, even if it doesn’t show up in many other parts of our country. Come and watch it yourself.
The family ski area in Radstadt – Altenmarkt is particularly suitable for small ski enthusiasts, professionals, sun skiers and young people. The area offers 17 snow secure kilometers of slopes with over eight modern cable cars and lifts are easily accessible. By the way, the 10-person gondola Hochbinfangbahn is the only 10-person gondola in the province of Salzburg.
Here is provided for enough variety. On the ski mountain Kemahdhöhe between Radstadt and Altenmarkt, the Fichtelland with Kids-Funslope and Fichtelslalom course, the Beginner Park Königslehen including Funslope and much more await. So don’t hesitate to go and experience a unique skiing vacation!
From Apartments Monika you can also reach the skiing area Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl in a few minutes drive. With the ski bus you reach Zauchensee in ten minutes.
In the skiing area Zauchensee, located at 1350 meters, three snowy mountains are waiting for you, the Rosskopf with 1930 meters, the Gamskogel with 1900 meters and the Tauernkar.
In Zauchensee offers 45 kilometers of slopes, 16 lifts, cable cars and downhill runs. The slope area is divided by 23.5 km of easy (blue), 17.2 km of medium (red) and 4.3 km of difficult (black) runs. So you as a skier, no matter if you have just started or if you are already an absolute ski pro, will surely find your personal challenges.
Thanks to mrs. Frau Holle, the 1350m high district of Zauchensee is considered snow secure, 2 meters are not uncommon here.
The Altenmarkt – Zauchensee ski area is always evolving. Thanks to the new Panorama Link cable car, you can now ski seamlessly from A to Z – from Alpendorf to Wagrain, Flachau, and Kleinarl, all the way to Zauchensee/Flachauwinkl. With just one ski pass, you can access the slopes of six incredible winter sports resorts.

In winter, you can look forward to snow-sure ski slopes that are easily accessible with modern cable cars and lifts. This family-friendly holiday region in Salzburger Land is also directly and easily reachable via the Tauernautobahn A10.
We are also happy to help you, whether small or large, to book a ski course. The ski school Happy is located at the valley station of the Radstadt-Altenmarkt ski area. Here you can book private ski and snowboard courses but also weekly ski courses.
In Zauchensee the ski schools Walchhofer and Balla will help you with your first turns, or simply to improve your style.
A successful skiing vacation also includes professional equipment! This is of course no problem in Altenmarkt. Here you will find numerous sports stores with ski rental, ski fashion and much more. You will also receive competent advice on the selection of ski boots everywhere. The rented equipment can be safely stored in our ski cellar after your skiing day!
